Save time and money by going directly to a barrister for help

Without the large overheads, such as staff cost and building rates, the actual fee for a barrister is a lot less than you think.

My name is Steven Hayden and I have been a fully qualified barrister since 2010.  I can guide, assist and help you through your legal situation and fully appreciate how stressful and daunting the procedure can be for you.  I engage with everyone I represent in the same way, direct, upfront and honest.

You can contact me using the simple enquiry form on this website, or alternatively you can contact me using enquiries@pro-bar.co.uk.

About Me

Steven Hayden

Steven Hayden

Steven Hayden – Barrister – Called to the Bar 2009 – Middle Temple

Having fully qualified in 2010, I now practise from Nexus, the Chambers of Michael Mansfield QC.  I live in Kent but travel all over the country attending court.

I began my career representing clients in the criminal youth courts, magistrates courts and crown courts, it was here that I honed my witness handling and court advocacy skills. After completing my ‘pupillage’ my career moved into civil litigation and family law.   I regularly draft documents (for both professional solicitor clients and lay clients) and  attend court as and when needed.

As a barrister, I am regulated by the Bar Standards Board and more information can be found at www.barstandardsboard.org.uk

You can also search for me using the the Barristers’ Register on the Bar Standards Board website with the following link Barristers’ Register

Attending Court

Attending court can be a daunting prospect and the outcome a life-changing event. The costs of directly instructing a barrister to attend court for you can be substantially less than you think and I always recommend that instructing a barrister to attend Court (whether that is me or another of my colleagues at the Bar) would be a very good decision.

Whether you have a first appearance at court, an application or even a trial, get in touch today to discuss how we can proceed with your case together.

My simple form makes this process easy and I will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your case further.

Areas of Practice

My usual work involves:

  • Crime
  • Personal Injury
  • Civil Litigation
  • Contractual disputes
  • Family Law with a focus on Child Care/Contact
  • Debt recovery and/or demands

However, due to my Public Access qualification and membership at Nexus Chambers, I have close relationships with other barristers who specialise in areas such as family law, landlord/tenant, HMOs, public enquiries and employment.

For more information on Public Access barristers please use the following link Public Access Information

So whatever your query, get in touch today and I will endeavour to provide you with options that are available and cost effective.

Motoring

Motoring offences are vast and can be complex, with the fear of penalty points and losing your licence a key concern for most people. Most people (if not all) simply cannot afford to lose their livelihoods and I will do my best to ensure that does not happen.

I am a motoring law expert and can assist you with any motoring offence that you are faced with.  With legal aid unlikely for most offences, alleged offenders are being charged exorbitant fees for representation.  Get in touch now and see how much you can save with expert representation by a barrister.

I have successfully represented people charged with offences such as:

  • Section 172 (failing to provide information)
  • Totting (where you face a ban due to excessive points on your licence)
  • Driving with no insurance
  • Driving with no licence
  • Driving whilst on a Mobile phone
  • Speeding
  • Drink Driving
  • Drug Driving
  • Failing to provide specimens
  • Careless Driving
  • Dangerous Driving

Don’t hesitate a moment longer, my free 30-minute consultation will solve your representation issues as I am confident my costs are not as high as you think and together we can start preparing your court case.  Get in touch today by filling out the simple contact form by clicking here or scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Personal Injury

I can assist you in making a personal injury claim so please get in contact so we can discuss this further.

There are some very important considerations when it comes to Personal Injury Claims that are likely to involve additional costs to you that are outside any fee agreement we have.  This include, but are not limited to:

  • Expert fees
  • Court fees
  • Adverse costs (where you are ordered to pay the other party’s costs)

Unfortunately due to the nature of these types of cases it would not possible to detail all potential costs in all potential circumstances, however this will be something we can discuss further

Consultation

I am friendly and approachable, offering a free initial telephone and/or email consultation.  After this, we can agree an hourly rate fee, though it is preferable for a fee that is fixed so that you know exactly what you are spending and what you are getting back in return.  I have no hidden fees and this upfront approach is one less issue for you to worry about.

Please complete the enquiry form below and be sure to leave your telephone number.

Fees

You can use the enquiry form below to obtain a quotation for my legal services or alternatively contact my Chambers using either the following email address: Info@nexuschambers.com or the phone number 0207 4041147; my clerks will be happy to assist.

I undertake work on either an hourly rate basis or on a fixed rate basis,  the levels of which are impacted by time, complexity, level of involvement, travel distances and costs.

For more information on Fee Transparency please contact me or alternatively the below link will take you to my Chambers’ website where more information is available for review; Fee Transparency.

I rarely will undertake work on a Conditional Fee Basis, however please contact me and I can provide details of this.

All Fees are subject to VAT and are not included unless expressly stated.

Complaints

You have the right to complain to the legal ombudsmen and the following link will take you to their website – Legal Ombudsmen

From there you can find all the information that you need, alternatively you can call them on 0300 555 0333 and I have found them to be extremely helpful

My Chambers’ complaints procedure can be found here Complaints

Contact Me

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch – I ask that with any enquiry can you please provide details of the type of case (for example Landlord/Tenant dispute, employment dispute, contractual dispute, family dispute, criminal matter, personal injury etc.) a brief description of the facts and finally any ‘key’ dates that are pending (such as court date and/or deadline for responding to any documents).
